Ace Ascent: Merge Your Way to Four Aces
Ace Ascent turns a solitaire table into a merging puzzle. You work across eight columns and four temporary cells, combining equal cards of the same suit until you collect an Ace for each suit.

Make one deliberate merge at a time
Two cards merge only when both rank and suit match. Two spade Fours become one spade Five; a club Four is not a matching partner. A newly created match waits for another action, so you control each step.
Distinguish placement from merging
An unmerged single card may land on a card one rank higher regardless of color. Any exposed single card may enter an empty column. Equal-rank cards of different suits cannot merge.
Groups follow a stricter rule: they must descend in alternating colors. Their transfer capacity depends on empty cells and other empty columns, as in FreeCell. A single-card landing can therefore be legal even though the resulting mixed-color group is not movable.
Give blockers an exit route
A cell holds one card. Use it to uncover a matching partner, then find a legal return or merge for the parked card. Occupying every cell can make later group transfers much harder.
- Find an exposed matching pair.
- Check what the merge would uncover and whether the new rank has another partner.
- Move a blocker only after checking its destination.
- Free temporary cells again as the sequence develops.
Finish each suit and learn from a replay
Two matching Kings create an Ace that goes directly to that suit’s goal. Collect all four suits to win. Moves and time are tracked rather than a separate points score.
New solo deals offer Hint, Undo and Redo at every difficulty. Restart repeats the current deal. Older saved deals retain their earlier rules, which may include freer placement or automatic merge cascades; this guide describes new deals.
