Make your partnership's bid while managing extra tricks and bags.
- What does a bid mean?
- A bid predicts how many tricks you expect to take. partners' bids combine into one contract.
- Which card must I play?
- Follow the suit led when able. otherwise you may discard or play a Spade.
- How do Spades win tricks?
- Any Spade beats a non-Spade. among Spades, the highest wins. Without a Spade, the highest card of the led suit wins.
- When may Spades lead?
- Spades normally cannot lead until someone has played a Spade on another suit, unless the leader holds only Spades.
- How is the contract scored?
- The partnership must take at least its combined bid. falling short is costly, while overtricks become bags.
- Why avoid too many extra tricks?
- Overtricks score small points but accumulate bags, which eventually trigger a penalty.
