- Where are stones played?
- Place a stone on an empty line intersection, not inside a drawn square.
- What is a liberty?
- A liberty is an in a straight line adjacent empty intersection. connected stones share their liberties.
- How are stones captured?
- Remove an opposing connected group when your move fills its last liberty.
- May I fill my own last liberty?
- Not unless the move captures opponents and thereby creates liberties. ordinary self-capture is illegal.
- Why can a former position be illegal?
- Whole-board superko forbids a move that recreates any earlier complete board position in this game.
- How does the game end and score?
- Two consecutive passes end play. Stones plus surrounded empty intersections form area. White receives 7.5 komi.
